They are venomous and their bite is deadly. They are the modern day dragon. Komodo dragons are one of the largest lizards on the planet. Their name is completely irrelevant to what they really are. They are actually the largest type of monitor lizard. They are an endangered species and we have to closely MONITOR them.(Ha ha, get it?)
They live on a serious island called Komodo Island. On this island they flourish and hunt. The island is located off of Indonesia. It is a relatively small island(compared to some at least).
Their method of hunting is ingenious. They bite their prey with a venomous bite. You may be thinking that is a very common way to kill, but wait till you here the twist. After biting there prey the prey could run away. If it did, it would die soon of poison. Here comes the twist, after the prey gets away the komodo dragon can track it’s prey by sensing hormones that the bite releases. This basically means you can’t hide from death. There is a major flaw in this because different komodo dragons can sense the hormone too, so lots of komodo dragons will run up and fight each other for food. On Komodo Island it’s serious survival of the fittest. Komodo dragons are the true kings of the island. Kong Skull Island got the lizards surprisingly correct.
