“Just a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down”- Mary Poppins (NEVER EVER JUST MARY)
In 1964 the world was introduced to the movie Mary Poppins who was portrayed by Julie Andrews along side Dick Van Dike. Now this iconic character will be played by Emily Blunt.
From previews as well online sources, it looks as if the plot of the story will take place about the same time period as the original movie. What time period is this? The time period is around the 1930’s. Something we don’t know however is if the Banks family will be included or if Poppins will be moving on to a different family. From the looks of the trailer there is a boy flying a kite which is a classic scene that meant a lot to the the original movie. This means it could be Michael or they could just be doing a sort of throw-back moment to the classic film.
Whatever happens, it is sure to be a good movie either way. I can’t wait to see what they do to the beloved character, so be sure to check out the movie on Christmas Day.
