Not so Sweet(heart) After all?

on February 8, 2019

Every year you get the same popular Valentine’s Day gift. We’ve all seen them: tiny heart-shaped chalky candy that say things like “be mine” and “love bug”.  But this year you should’t expect any.

Spangler Candy Company has announced it didn’t have enough time to meet the needs to supply to stores. Since then, buyers have been more frequent to buy what’s left even with the raise in price. Most stores are fully or almost out upsetting the majority of crazy-valentiners.

Through a quick amazons search, I could really see how much people wanted them. A 31lb. bag of them cost $20.27. That’s $6.76 a pound! Back in my day, I used to travel to the Family Dollar and see those whippersnappers for a dollar each bag. They’ve always been a part of my very traditional childhood last year. And now they are gone.

But if you are, don’t worry: they’ve also announced they’ll have them back in 2020.  See them next year!
